Pointless Fame

The beautiful thing about Stoic philosophy is the advice contained within it is just as applicable today as it was when it was first written all those many years ago. We can learn a great deal from interpreting the advice provided and using it to our advantage as we go throughout our own lives.
Today’s quote comes to us courtesy of Marcus Aurelius, Meditations, II.17:
Quote
“As for life, it is a battle and a sojourning in a strange land; but the fame that comes after is oblivion.”
Advice
We all struggle throughout life. Every day brings challenges we may have never encountered before. We pursue great desires within our life such as money, family, fame. But remember that when we pass away, we cannot take any of that with us. Do not kill yourself in pursuit of something you will never truly have. It is momentary.
