Purpose
The beautiful thing about Stoic philosophy is the advice contained within it is just as applicable today as it was when it was first written all those many years ago. We can learn a great deal from interpreting the advice provided and using it to our advantage as we go throughout our own lives.
Today’s quote comes to us courtesy of Marcus Aurelius, Meditations, XII.22:
Quote
First, do nothing inconsiderately, nor without a purpose. Second, make thy acts refer to nothing else than to a social end.
Advice
All of your actions should be driven by purpose. Do not waste time and energy performing tasks or living life without purpose driven intent behind it. The purpose behind your actions is for the betterment of your community and those around you as we are building these lives we live together.
