The Moment
The beautiful thing about Stoic philosophy is the advice contained within it is just as applicable today as it was when it was first written all those many years ago. We can learn a great deal from interpreting the advice provided and using it to our advantage as we go throughout our own lives.
Today’s quote comes to us courtesy of Seneca:
Quote
“The whole future lives in uncertainty: live immediately.”
Advice
This moment is all that matters. The Stoics held the belief that the past is gone and therefore cannot be reclaimed, and that the future is not yet here and there is no guarantee of what it would hold. Therefore, we must learn to live in the moment, the here and now as it is all we truly have.
